Joan Kinyua – President
A devoted mother of one and a seasoned professional in the microwork industry, Joan brings over five years of experience in remote digital tasks. Her deep understanding of the challenges data labelers face has shaped her leadership in advocating for fair pay and better working conditions. Joan’s commitment to empowering others stems from her own journey, and she leads DLA with empathy, vision, and determination.
Ephantus Kanyugi –
Vice President
Since 2018, Ephantus has thrived in the field of data annotation, renowned for his precision and ability to tackle complex datasets. His passion for innovation and dedication to uplifting fellow data labelers drive his role as vice president. With a forward-thinking approach, Ephantus is committed to creating opportunities for growth and fostering a supportive community for all members.


Michael Geoffrey Abuyabo Asia – Secretary
Michael is a data annotation specialist with over five years of expertise in the digital workspace. His meticulous approach and commitment to excellence have earned him a reputation as a trusted professional in the field. As secretary, Michael ensures that DLA’s initiatives are well-organized and impactful, playing a key role in advocating for ethical practices and skill-building opportunities.

Edwin Ndungu – Founding Member
I’m a tech enthusiast with a knack for problem-solving and innovation. Over the past 6 years, I’ve carved a niche in data labeling and management, blending creativity and precision to deliver impactful solutions. Beyond my work, I find joy in mentoring upcoming professionals and exploring the vast possibilities of AI to reshape the digital world.

Joy Minayo – Founding Member
Joy has spent the last five years working online as a data labeler and transcriber, blending her passion for digital work with a strong desire to empower others. Her dedication to mentorship and youth empowerment is evident in her efforts to provide skills and guidance to young people entering the online workspace. Currently focused on digital marketing, Joy envisions a future where data labelers are not only recognized but celebrated for their contributions.

Caroline Wambui – Founding Member
I am a 33-year-old mother of two, dedicated to the AI industry and an active member of the Data Labellers and Annotators Association. With a passion for travel and exploration, I enjoy discovering new places and experiences. My core mission is to champion fair pay and job security for online workers, a cause that fuels my commitment to the association and its goals.

Lucy Wanjiku – Founding Member
I’m Lucy, a passionate storyteller who uses the canvas of data labeling to create meaningful outcomes. With 7 years in the digital workspace, I thrive on crafting accurate and impactful datasets for AI projects. When I’m not working, you’ll find me exploring creative outlets like photography or finding inspiration in art and design.

Juliet Wanjiku Wainoi – Founding Member
I’m a passionate and driven computer scientist with a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. She is committed to exploring the cutting-edge technologies that shape the future, constantly expanding her knowledge and skills. Juliet is also deeply dedicated to a fitness lifestyle, believing that physical health and well-being are key to personal growth.
