A worker’s child needs to go to hospital. They can’t get a soft loan to pay the bill because their contract is only one month long.

A platform closes an account. The worker can lose their income without the protections an employee would normally have against dismissal.

A mother goes on maternity leave. There is no maternity leave—her contract is cancelled because she is an “independent contractor.” What is she supposed to live on?

A worker can be earning money from AI work every month and still be unable to prove to a bank that they have a job.

A worker has an emergency and needs to stop working. There is no paid leave, no severance and no employment benefits to fall back on.

A worker struggles with their mental health. For one of our own, it ended in death.
